Sally is the Senior Manager, Planned Giving at Monash University

What am I passionate about?

I am absolutely passionate about fundraising and how it truly makes a difference, particularly at Monash where so many deserving areas across education and research are supported. It is a joy to be a part of an institution and community that celebrates and supports that work and the impact it makes for future generations.

What do I do in my free time?

My two great joys in life are my sons and my swimming. A parent of two boys, who while I could throttle at times, are my greatest loves; 15 and 20, they are brilliant human beings. And, swimming is my other great passion - whether the pool or the ocean, it makes me laugh, keeps me fit, gets me out of bed, takes me on adventures and keeps me sane in this busy world we live in.

My Favourite TV Show:

Ted Lasso - no other series has brought me so much joy in a long time, though Have You Been Paying Attention is an excellent and very happy way to catch up on news too.

If you could invite 3 guests to dinner, who would they be?

Hugh Jackman - just seems like the most genuinely nice person on the planet

Mick Thomas - a brilliant Australian musician whose music I love and storytelling is joyous

Gertrude Ederle - first woman to swim the English Channel, her story is inspirational and what she did to achieve her dream extraordinary

The best thing about my current position:

To be at a University working towards making a difference, for so many, in so many ways, is really inspiring. In my area of Gifts in Wills, I get the privilege of working with people who simply just want to make a difference, while at the same time I am learning about the many incredible facets of Monash. I have been involved in supporting legacies for Climate Change, flora and fauna conservation, medical research for blood cancer and heart disease, and life changing scholarships that will create ripple effects long into the future - what a truly amazing difference they are making.

My dream destination:

South of France in a little village called Eygalieres, staying on a little hobby farm with a pool and orchard, riding into town each morning for fresh croissants, daily trips to Cassis to swim in the crystal blue waters.
