susan jo kruse is the registrar at thomas carr college
What is your background?
I’m the Mother of 2 adult children. One is a teacher while the other is a nurse. I spent 12 years working with Victoria Police, 10 Years employed at Thomas Carr College and 4 years in the Registrar role.
What do you love about Advancement/your role?
I love helping and making a difference to people’s lives. I get a thrill out of watching a young Year 7 student’s journey. They enter the College shy, and grow into a confident young person ,sometimes with Leadership qualities.
What are your 3 takeaways from the Summit?
Auditing our customer journey, learning about Artificial Intelligence ( Chat GPT), learning the tools to take a seat at the Leadership table.
What did winning the Newcomer Scholarship mean to you?
I appreciated the opportunity to mix with other like-minded women in my role within Australia. Being a Registrar can often be a very independent role. Learning from others about the way they approach their role was helpful. I have made some new connections and look forward to having someone to bounce off in the future.
