Gembridge hosted the 2nd Wellbeing Webinar Enhancing Mental Health in the New Normal with Carli Phillips from Corporate Wellbeing Hub. With Victoria being labelled “The Disaster State” and Stage 4 restrictions implemented. New normal is constantly evolving and adjusting, and different for everyone, and each organisation depending on circumstances.
Wellbeing is so important… pandemic, or not.
“New normal” is evolving and changing for many people and organisations. During this 45 min presentation Carli provided excellent insights, strategies and tips for building resilience, saying ‘no’ in order to prioritise high impact tasks, returning to work (physical & psychological safety), protective factors and leading people through uncertainty.
Via interactive poll, ‘for purpose’ leaders were asked, “Which risk factors are having the most impact on your mental health? The highest rankings were High Workload (36%), Uncertainty (34%), Isolation (17%) and Poor Eating and Lack of Exercise (equal at 8%). Alcohol intake and lack of job satisfaction were other options in this poll, and encouraging to see these factors are low risk for this cohort.
Working remotely has presented challenges and opportunities. Another poll posed the question “What type of work will you be hoping for after the restrictions ease? 80% chose a hybrid set of days in the workplace and at home, indicating combining the best from both worlds post pandemic.
